Getting Healthy Again

I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase, “health is wealth”, at some point in your life. My family recently went through a health crisis that really put things into perspective and helped me realize that health is a gift that should be cherished and nurtured. For a long time, I convinced myself that I was too busy and too tired to plan and cook nutrient-dense meals because I’m a mom! Let’s be real- I think the root of my passiveness in relation to food was fear of failure. I was afraid of spending all this time and energy in planning and preparing healthy meals and it wouldn’t make an impact on my health or I wouldn’t enjoy them. I’m here to tell you that the devil is a liar! I stopped feeling sorry for myself and started taking my health seriously. Being a mom should not be an excuse; it should be your motivation, and it became mine.

Here are a few morning habits I’ve been implementing, and I hope it will remind you that it doesn’t have to be complicated!

Simple Morning Habits:

-Getting about 15-20 minutes of sunlight in the morning to support my hormones and circadian rhythm.

-Eating unsweetened cultured coconut yogurt first thing in the morning to support my gut.

-Eating a high protein + high fiber meal within one hour of waking up.

-Drinking a cup of electrolytes to support healthy cells.

-Light movement after breakfast to support blood sugar.
